Presenting the Voting Access Monitor

We’re happy to announce the launch of the Voting Access Monitor, a new product co-designed with key voting rights partners. The Voting Access Monitor empowers voting rights organizations to defend and advocate for better access to polling locations.

The Voting Access Monitor aggregates various trusted data sources containing demographic, geographic, and electoral indicators. VAM’s interactive visualizations provide summarized and detailed information about where polling locations have been opened and closed at the state and county level over the last decade.

Equipped with these insights, voting rights organizations can work with local election officials to ensure polling locations are distributed equitably in their community and support litigation action under the Voting Rights Act when voters encounter systemic challenges.

Partners can engage with the VAM in three key ways:

  1. Direct access to the Voting Access Monitor interactive visualization tool

  2. Request Voting Access Reports for analysis of key data points of interest

  3. Direct access to Center for New Data’s database
